Yesterday saw the launch of the new-look Tesco Extra store in Beaumont Leys Shopping Centre.

Tesco marked the event with special treats including a formal ribbon cutting ceremony, champagne, orange juice and cake. The store also invited the local community and organisations to share in its celebrations.

Tesco colleagues were given the opportunity to nominate a worthy local charity to receive a donation as part of the re-launch celebrations and chose LOROS, presenting the Hospice with a £500 donation at the event.

Magdalena Korytkowska, Corporate Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS Hospice, said “We’d like to thank all the colleagues at the Tesco Extra store at Beaumont Shopping Centre for this wonderful donation.

"This amount is equivalent to the cost of 20 aromatherapy, reflexology or massage sessions, helping to relieve a patient’s pain and sickness, or to reduce anxiety in patients and their family members.

"This donation does make a difference to the care we provide.”
