Savers with deposits in Hinckley & Rugby Building Society’s Hospice Affinity Account have generated an £18,300 donation for three hospices in Leicestershire and Warwickshire.
LOROS, Mary Ann Evans and The Myton Hospices are each receiving £6,100 thanks to the donation by the Society of a sum equivalent to one per cent of the average balances held in the account each year.
Adrian Walker, interim Fundraising Manager at LOROS, said: “We are very grateful to Hinckley & Rugby Building Society and their clients for such wonderful continued support. Every year LOROS receives this donation from the Affinity Account and it is fantastic to see that it is more successful each year.
“Congratulations on this achievement and our sincere thanks to the customers for their generosity. The amazing amount of £6,100 is equivalent to the cost of one of our Community Nurse Specialists visiting 61 patients in their own homes, providing free care and support to patients and their family members. This annual donation does make a difference to the care we provide.”
The latest donation takes the total shared by the three hospices beyond £82,000 since the account’s launch in 2008.
Jamie Clarke, Hinckley & Rugby Building Society customer assistant, said: "The credit must go to our savers who choose in their hundreds to put their money in the affinity account, knowing that doing so generates many thousands of pounds each year for such valued hospices.”
