Loughborough College covered more than three hundred miles over land and ‘sea’ to help give a huge boost to LOROS funds.

The two-day challenge, using equipment provided by LOROS, saw students and staff not only run almost two marathons and cycle to Liverpool and back, but also make a return trip to France - all without leaving the campus, and smashing their fundraising target for the charity in the process.

Eighty sponsored participants covered more than 48.5 miles on a rowing machine for the equivalent of a cross-Channel return trip, ran 47.3 miles on a treadmill and topped 200 miles on an exercise bike for the Static Triathlon event.

Student Engagement Mentor, Lydia Hovenden, said the event had raised more than £500 for LOROS.

“It was great to see so many students and members of staff participate.

“We were able to raise money for a fantastic cause, promote healthy living, help students to gain confidence and create a fantastic community spirit with staff and students working together to achieve our goals!"
