Huge congratulations and a massive thank you to our 16 London Marathon runners!

We would like to say a massive thank you and well done to each and every one of you who battled through and completed the London Marathon in aid of LOROS last Sunday!

Fundraising Co-ordinator Andrew Ward said: "Completing a marathon is such a massive challenge, with our runners training months in advance of the big day.

"Every single one of them deserve their medal for crossing that finish line!

“I can only thank them for their incredible efforts supporting LOROS.”

All 16 of our runners safely completed the 26.2 mile route, with some absolutely fantastic finishing times, which are listed below:

LOROS Runner Gill McGarry said: "It was such a fantastic day, the noise, the people, the shouting, the music - it was very special.

"To top it all I took a taxi to the station to get to the start and the driver was a Tottenham fan and gave me £10 back to sponsor me - then Leicester won 4-0...if Carling made Sundays!"

If you’re considering entering next year's London Marathon, please be aware that that the public ballot for entries will be open from Monday 2nd May until 5pm on Friday 6th May.

LOROS Hospice has unveiled a special celebrity supporter of its new Stomp Round Leicester art trail. Artist Daft-apeth, aka Serge Pizzorno, lead singer of Leicester rock band Kasabian, has designed one of the 40 giant elephants that form the art trail.
