Coventry Building Society branch's 'Blue Day' boosts their LOROS fundraising totals

Coventry Building Society's Blue Day, organised to raise funds for LOROS, was a resounding success and the proceeds from the day will boost their 2016 Accumulator Challenge total.

As well as selling home baked cakes and tasty samosas, the colleagues also came up with the great idea of selling water bottles with knitted blue and white hats to show their support to Leicester City Football Club's Blue Day.

Julie Ball, Manager at the Leicester branch, said: "Since our partnership with LOROS began in 2014, we have raised £10,000. That includes our 2016 Accumulator Challenge which is currently standing at £3,400!

"We still have lots planned, including ongoing passbook cover and book sales and the LOROS Colourfun Mile, so I am confident that we will carry on with raising funds for our local Hospice!"

Matt Manning, Head of the Branch Network at Coventry Building Society, visited the Leicester branch recently in order to congratulate the team on their achievement and to donate an additional £250 to LOROS on behalf of the Society; which was a very thoughtful gesture.

Magdalena Korytkowska, Corporate Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS said: "Coventry Building Society’s, Leicester branch has been an incredible supporter of LOROS for the past two years and we are delighted that they continue to be one of our business partners.

"The money they have raised so far could pay for the care of two inpatients for a 10 day stay at the Hospice. That is a wonderful achievement and we would like to say a huge thank you to Julie and her colleagues - they are truly remarkable."
