A large cardboard cutout used to promote limited edition Walkers Crisps - and featuring a buff-looking Gary Lineker - has been signed by the former City striker and put up for auction.
The large tongue-in-cheek image of Lineker's head superimposed on a bodybuilder's torso is on eBay now, with all the money raised going to the LOROS hospice.
The fund-raising endeavour has been organised by Leicester Mercury business development manager, Angela Padfield.
She said: "I heard Gary was in town last week doing some filming so I grabbed the board and ran out looking for him.
"I didn't really know where he was, but I asked at the market and then went up to High Street and when I thought I wasn't getting anywhere I walked round to the cathedral and there he was.
"I ran over with giant cutout and said 'will you sign this for me?'
"At first he didn't look too impressed, but when I said it was for LOROS, he lightened up a bit."
The bidding will end on June 1.
