Former Leicester City captain Matt Elliott is to strip off to support LOROS hospice's Undie-dogs campaign.

The Groby Road hospice has enlisted a host of Leicester legends who have agreed to pose in their pants, in return for sponsorship for the charity.

When set fund-raising totals are reached through sponsorship, Elliott and fellow participants will strike a pose in LOROS boxers, created especially by Loughborough company, Shreddies.

The ex-Foxes captain needs to be sponsored for a total of £1,500 to pose in his pants.

The campaign, which launched earlier this month, is inspired by Gary Lineker's promise to present the first Match of the Day next season, after Leicester City clinched the Premier League title.

LOROS fund-raiser Dave Nicklin said: "We were delighted when Matty agreed to become one of our Undie-dogs.

"With the campaign inspired by former Leicester City player Gary, it's great to have a fellow player and legend on board."

Leicester Riders star Tyler Bernardini who will pose in his pants when the total reaches £500, said: "I am happy to be able to support LOROS hospice with such an important and fun campaign."

Already involved are the likes of Hollyoaks star Charlie Clapham, snooker pundit Willie Thorne, ex-Leicestershire cricketer Paul Nixon, former Tigers and England rugby player George Chuter and boxer and bodybuilder Rendall Munroe.

Media sponsor CSL Group, of Leicester, has put forward Mark Plumb to take part in the campaign.

Director Michael Mathias said: "It took a little persuasion but once we explained to Mark why he would be doing it, he was very willing.

"He, along with the rest of the organisation, are all fully behind the campaign."

Companies, organisations and individuals are still able to sign up for the campaign, which will be running up until the middle of August.

In order for the celebrities to pose in their pants, they need to be sponsored through donations, which can be made by either texting: "PANT10" plus amount to 70070 or at loros.co.uk/undiedogs

On social media use the hashtag #Undiedogs
