The cast from Curve’s Grease have brought the magic of theatre to LOROS by putting on a special performance for patients, families, staff and volunteers at the Hospice.

The group of actors and actresses helped kick-off 2017, by performing a variety of well-known songs from the hit musical when they visited LOROS earlier this month.

Patients, families, volunteers and staff alike were all singing along to the familiar sound of ‘Grease is the word’, ‘Summer Nights’ and ‘Beauty School Drop-out’, to name but a few. Alt text

Kathleen Wilcox and her father, 80-year-old Thomas Ryan, who was a patient on the ward at the time, were among those watching the show.

Kathleen, 58, of Thurmaston, said: “The cast were brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

“Thanks to them, I’ve been able to create some really treasured memories with dad; it was lovely to be able to share the experience with him.

“It really uplifted dad, it was lovely to see how happy he was.”

As well as performing, the cast held a brief question and answer session and took time to meet some of the patients who were on the ward and those in Day Therapy.

Jessica Paul, who plays Sandy in the show said: “Myself and the cast absolutely loved performing for some of the patients at LOROS.

“It’s wonderful to be able to give the patients and their families a taster of Grease as we know some of them might not be able to get to the theatre.”

Jessica and the rest of the cast really helped bring the show to life by performing some of their dance routines, alongside singing.

“We hope we managed to brighten their day.”

The cast ended with a much-loved medley of songs from the show, to finish off their visit.

Grease will be completing their stint at Curve on Saturday.

LOROS are always on the look-out for professional singers, dancers and musicians to come in and perform for patients, families, staff and volunteers at the Hospice.
