LOROS has teamed up with a number of local businesses to add an extra special fun twist to enhance their already successful annual Golf Day.

Supported by SJ Events and Danny Spillane Golf, this year's event will be taking place at Rothley Golf Club on Friday 19th May.

Adding an extra element of fun to this year’s event, a number of the holes are being sponsored by local companies who have relished the opportunity to showcase their products at their hole, which have all been given a golf-related pun name.

Charnwood Brewery will host the ‘Charn-wood hole’, Burleighs Gin will take ownership of the ‘G and tee’, while car-part suppliers Parkers are supporting ‘On-par-kers’ and Swithland Water’s will be providing H20 at ‘The Watering Hole’.

Other holes on the course include ‘The Two-Birdies’, supported by Market Harborough based gin producers, Two Birds, The Grand Hotel, in Leicester are proud sponsors of the ‘Grand-slam hole’ and Sturgess Land Rover are supporting the ‘Driving range’.

LOROS Events Lead Laura Betts said: “We are delighted to welcome so many local companies to our Golf Day this year.

“It’s a great opportunity for suppliers to showcase their products and keep our teams refreshed on the 18-hole course.”

Teams will enjoy a light lunch courtesy of Spire Leicester Hospital, before a shotgun start at midday.

Players will enjoy hospitality at the 12th hole, kindly sponsored by Mosdorfer CCL with food provided by local delicatessen, Norths of Rothley.

The day will be rounded off with a superb evening meal at the club house, generously sponsored by Sturgess Land Rover.

“Through the generosity of the teams who participated last year, we were able to cover the cost of 50 patients attending our Day Therapy Unit,” added Laura.

“This service is available at the Hospice and provides multidisciplinary care, including complementary and creative therapies, information and support, to patients suffering from a terminal illness.”
