A brand new resource centre helping to make it easier for people to access information about LOROS Hospice will be making its first trip to Loughborough on Tuesday.

Last week saw the launch of LOROS Local, a new initiative introduced by the hospice to give people in the community easier access to information about the services it offers.

On Tuesday (April 11), LOROS Local will be coming to Loughborough for the first time and will be static in Market Place from 10am until 4pm.

Members of the public are being encouraged to pop down and see LOROS Local, where they will also get the opportunity to meet the driver, as well as find out more about the services the hospice offers.

LOROS CEO John Knight said: “We believe that people will find it helpful to have easier access to both some of our care services and information about the hospice and we’re hoping that by taking LOROS Local into the community will enable this.

“We also believe that by being more visible in local communities, and by telling more people about LOROS, that this will also help us to raise more income in the future.”

People will also be able to access a number of non-clinical services on LOROS Local, including bereavement support and complementary therapy.

Experts in palliative care from the hospice will also have the opportunity to educate fellow healthcare professionals, with mobile training on LOROS Local.

“As well as being an outlet for information, we are hoping LOROS Local will help raise awareness of the Hospice when it’s out on the road too,” added John.

“We don’t think you’ll be able to miss it, we have ensured our logo and branding will be very easy to see, so make sure you look out for that familiar LOROS yellow when you’re out and about.”
