Newsreader and LOROS Patron Anne Davies has been announced as the guest host for the Hospice’s brand new event, A Day at the Polo.

Taking place at Rutland Polo Club, in Oakham, visitors will be able to enjoy a four-course meal specially created by celebrity chef Kwoklyn Wan, before watching the highly anticipated historic Assam Cup Tournament.

TV star Anne will be hosting the event, which will be taking place on Sunday 2nd July.

LOROS Event Co-ordinator Dave Nicklin said: “We are extremely pleased to announce that Anne will be attending our brand new event, A Day at the Polo.

“We couldn’t think of a more perfect event for Anne to attend than one complete with fizz, fantastic food and the opportunity to watch the historic Assam Cup Tournament first-hand.”

Kwoklyn will be giving a taste of Asia to hospitality guests with his bespoke menu, created especially for the event.

In addition, Leicester’s very own Burleigh’s Gin will be providing a welcome drink to hospitality guests and they will be hosting their very own pop-up gin tent on the day.

Champagne Occasions will be the official ‘champagne sponsors’ on the day, giving guests the chance to enjoy a glass of fizz in their champagne tent.

“A Day at the Polo is the perfect way for all the family to spend a summer’s day this July,” added Dave.

“This is a brand new event that we have added to the LOROS calendar this year and with it looking like the sun is set to stay out this summer, we couldn’t be more excited.”

Hospitality tickets for the event are selling fast, alternatively though, if visitors want to watch the tournament while enjoying their own picnic on the lawn, then that option is available too.

Hospitality tickets are available to purchase now for £60, with picnic tickets £7.50.
