LOROS opens pop up bargain reuse shop

The new shop, located on 255 Uppingham Road, sells clothing and accessories all priced at less than a fiver, with high end designer labels at under a tenner.

There's also a range of bric-a-brac too, such as plates and ornaments, at just 25p. DVDs are an incredible ten for £1!

With environmental concerns high on everyone's agenda, this clearance shop enables LOROS to save items from landfill and resell them to support their care for patients and their families. Gary Dale, retail manager at LOROS, said, "Our pop-up clearance shop is selling preloved items at a fraction of their cost which not only helps the environment but also supports our work with terminally-ill patients.

The shop, which is open until the end of March 2020, also encourages reuse by its cheap pricing. "People often buy books or CDs and then donate them back again, so it really encourages people to shop sustainably."

"We're really proud of our contribution to reducing waste, so if you're planning to turn over a green leaf in 2020, come along to Uppingham Road and shop LOROS."

The new pop-up is the sister to the Reuse shop at Gypsum Close Recycling Centre, which retrieves useable goods from landfill and sells them on at low cost.

Overspill items donated there are sent to the pop-up shop for sale, benefitting both the environment and shoppers’ pockets!
