This September LOROS celebrates its 35th anniversary and it's inviting its supporters to be part of it.

The Hospice, which admitted its first patient on 2nd September in 1985, is asking for staff, volunteers, families of patients, friends and supporters to get in touch and share their memories of LOROS.

John Knight, CEO of LOROS said, "LOROS has always been all about people - our amazing nurses, doctors and volunteers but most importantly and our patients and their families.

“Over the years we've cared for thousands of people as they reach end of life. Many of our families tell us they have cherished memories of their loved ones at LOROS.

“These recollections are really precious. They help tell the Hospice’s story.”

The charity wants to capture these memories to commemorate its 35th anniversary. It is keen to hear from people with a host of different memories of LOROS, from nurses who worked here from the early days, to people who volunteered at their first fundraising events, to those who use LOROS services now.

“We want a whole range of memories, from recent to days past, to reflect the journey the Hospice has made over the years.

“LOROS is a community hospice and we’re really looking forward to reading about the place it has in people’s hearts. As we look towards the future, that relationship remains central to ensuring we’re here for the next 35.”

Anyone wishing to share their memories of LOROS can do so on their website. Visit loros.co.uk/35 for more.

In addition to collecting memories, a host of events and activities will be taking place throughout September to celebrate LOROS’ anniversary. More details will be available on the charity’s website in the coming months.
