Dying Matters Week 2021

News

10 May 2021

10th-16th May is Dying Matters Week 2021.

Every year in May, LOROS hosts Dying Matters, a national awareness-raising week to encourage people everywhere to talk openly about death, dying and bereavement.

This year has added resonance, as for so many people death has been ever present in our lives for the past twelve months.

This year LOROS is supporting:

My Funeral Wishes: a handy form to help family and friends think through their options when they die.

Everything in Place: a new LOROS initiative to encourage greater communication with patients and their families about death and dying. Our aim is to encourage these conversations and build the confidence and skills of our care services staff and volunteers to talk about planning and preparing for death whenever it’s appropriate.

Supporting children and young people: How our resource box is providing ways for children in grief to express their emotions.

Gifts in Wills: Leave LOROS a gift so we can be here for families in the future.

How to Live Again: Dianne’s story of how she pieced her life together after the death of her husband.
