On Sunday, Leicester City's game against Manchester United at King Power Stadium will be dedicated to LOROS Hospice, one of The Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation’s nominated charities for the 2024/25 season.

For years, LOROS has provided compassionate end-of-life care for thousands of people across Leicestershire and Rutland, but there’s an essential part of their work that many may not know about: their counselling service.

This crucial support system ensures that both patients and their families receive the emotional and psychological care they need during some of life’s most challenging moments.

LOROS Counselling

LOROS isn’t just about helping people in their final days; the Hospice ensures patients can live fully and meaningfully until the very end.

Our counselling service is a cornerstone of this mission, providing vital mental health support to individuals aged 6 to 96. Delivered by specialists and trained volunteers, this service offers a range of support options:

  • One-to-one and group sessions

  • Face-to-face and telephone support

  • In-Hospice and community-based counselling

With 1,500 counselling appointments delivered each year - including 400 for children and young people - LOROS is making a profound difference in people’s lives.

But this service comes at a cost, with 80 per cent of funds needed to be raised through donations, meaning the generosity of supporters is crucial.

How LCFC fans have already made an impact

Through the generosity of LCFC Season Ticket Holders, enough money has already been raised to fund this counselling service for three months.

But the challenge remains: securing the funds needed for the remaining nine months of the year.

If everyone at King Power Stadium donated just £5 on Sunday, LOROS would raise enough to fully fund the service for an entire year - ensuring that no patient or family member has to face these challenges alone.

How you can help?

Throughout March, Leicester City fans can continue to support this life-changing service by making a donation.

Every contribution, no matter how small, helps provide free counselling to those in need during the most difficult times of their lives.

Together, this will ensure that LOROS can continue to be there for those who need it most - today, tomorrow, and always.
