Who is the course recommended for?
This foundation level workshop was developed to meet the level 1 skills requirement described in the 2004 NICE guidance on ‘Improving Supportive and Palliative Care for Adults with Cancer’
What will I learn from this course?
It teaches the communication skills needed to notice distress, listen carefully and respond with empathy. It is interactive in nature and uses a mix of small group work, lectures and rehearsals to teach participants how to have an evidence-based, structured conversation with someone who has concerns or is distressed
