Sue Sansome, along with her friend Charlotte, recently held a coffee morning in aid of LOROS and in memory of their dear friend and neighbour, Lynda Bloomer.
They would like to say a big thank you to Lynda's children, Matthew and Joseph, who hand blocked and tied the wrapping paper, to Rosemary Sykes who wrote out over 300 raffle tickets, Jack and Frances Hunter for manning the entrance and cake stall as well as baking amazing cakes too, Fiona Cairnes for her very generous and delicious cakes, Sue's family who served the refreshments and all their many wonderfully kind and generous neighbours and friends who baked and donated so much.
Big shout out to Pat Porteous for her wonderful painting, Tippett's the florist in Oadby, Mustard in Oadby, George's hair salon at Oadby, Outer Space on Frances Street and Brown's Lingerie, Frances Street who all very kindly donated such wonderful raffle prizes.
Debbie Dickman, Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS said: "What a wonderful effort by Sue and her friends; they raised a whopping £2,120.90 which is quite amazing from a coffee morning.
£25 could pay for an hour of care for one of our inpatients which means the money raised could pay for 84 hours of invaluable support to our patients and their families,
"We would like to say a huge thank you to each and every single person that made this happen.”
