The Curry For Charity initiative continued its campaign by raising a total £1000 for local charity, LOROS Hospice.
Over 30 people attended the event hosted at Mumbai Inn, which earlier this year scooped the award for Best New Restaurant at the Leicester Curry Awards. The evening included welcome drinks followed by a three-course sit down meal featuring delicious Indian and Nepalese food.
Mr Gulzar said: “Our aim is to host multiple curry evenings across the city to try and support as many local charities as we can. For the attendees, it’s a great night out and for the charities, it’s an opportunity to raise some much-needed funds so it’s a win-win.”
Restaurant owner Rana Azad said: “It was an absolute honour to host the Curry For Charity event at our establishment. LOROS is a great charity and does some vital work with terminally ill adult patients and their families. It’s a great comfort knowing that all the funds raised will contribute massively towards helping local people.”
A raffle was also held on the night to raise further funds for the chosen charity, with some great prizes donated by various businesses across the city including theatre tickets and dinner vouchers at a variety of restaurants.
