Six members of the Student Lifecycle Programme at Leicester University volunteered at M&S for the day, packing customer shopping and collecting donations for the Hospice.

Angela Baxter, Business Project Manager of the Programme, organised the volunteering with LOROS, and the team raised an amazing £1,382 for the charity, along with showcasing the role the University can play within their community.

Claire McAteer (pictured, middle front) said: "It was great fun and we met lots of people who’ve been impacted by the amazing work that LOROS do. It was very tiring being on our feet all day but really rewarding.

"LOROS were particularly grateful that we were all able to give our time. I think it’s a good example of the University getting out there and contributing to the local community."

Bernadette Fenn from LOROS, added: "I know how difficult it can be to find extra time to volunteer, especially when everyone is so busy around the Christmas period.

"A massive thank you to Angela and the team for all their help, we could not have raised this magnificent amount without them."
