Maryann Tobin and her boyfriend Pross recently completed the Edinburgh Marathon in memory of her Grandpa.
Maryann said: "LOROS is a charity very close to my heart. They provided invaluable care and support to my Grandpa in September last year and it brought me great comfort to know how well he was looked after in his last days.
"It is incredible to me how LOROS and other hospices across the UK are charities and rely on donations to keep running. It is for this reason that Pross and I decided to run the Edinburgh marathon to raise money for LOROS and give something back.
The marathon was a challenge for both of us, to say the least, but we were motivated by raising money for a worthy cause in memory of my Grandpa."
Faron Bloomfield, Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS added "Maryann and Pross completed the course and crossed the line together in a fantastic time of 3 hours 51 minutes.
"We are so thankful to them both for choosing to run on behalf of LOROS and hope to see them back in LOROS running vests soon!"
Maryann and Pross have raised close to £1,300 which is a tremendous achievement and could pay for 52 hours of care for one of our inpatients. Thank you so much for your help, it makes a huge difference to us.
