Terry Sneath had worked as treasurer at the Wigston Liberal Club for many years and was highly respected and valued for the support he provided them and for saving the club twice from closure.

Sam Marvin, Manager of the club, along with members of the committee decided to hold an evening of remembrance for Terry and to support LOROS, where he spent his final days.

When Terry's wife, Carole, heard about this very special event both her and their daughter Melissa, approached local businesses and asked them to contribute items, which were auctioned or raffled off during the evening. They were amazed at how many of them were happy to donate for such a great cause.

Members of the club also kindly provide prizes including a holiday home in Majorca for a week, a caravan for a long weekend. LCFC, where Terry was a devoted fan, donated a stadium tour pass for a party of four.

During the evening, Sean Ryan gave a wonderful tribute speech in memory of Terry and the club's concert room has now been re-named The Terry Sneath Room.

The jazz band Mojohand entertained everyone with their music throughout the evening and as always, were an absolute delight to listen to.

Carole said: "Sam and Ian were superb hosts for the evening and everyone had a very memorable night.  Spirits were high and the bidding created a fantastic buzz.

"We were all hugely delighted to learn we had raised just over £1,400 for such a worthy charity."

Debbie Dickman, Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS added: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Sam, Carole and everyone involved in this event; it was a super way to remember Terry.

"The fantastic £1,400 they raised for LOROS could pay for the cost of one of our specialist nurses for two whole weeks - thank you again for your wonderful donation."
