Many thanks to Broughton Astley Cricket Club for holding their first Kevin Hill 6 A Side Cricket Tournament and raising a fantastic £872 in memory of Kevin Hill.

The club was overwhelmed by the support of Kevin’s friends and family; some even travelled from the other side of the country to attend!

Despite the weather, the turnout was brilliant and the club would like to thank everyone who supported the event. They also wish to thank the Bull at Broughton, Phil Holden Fasteners, M&O Group, Stuart Cross Motor Services, Leicester Castle Hire, Cavendish Nuclear, Sunargow, Chengs Garden, Spar, White Horse and the George & Dragon who kindly donated some great raffle prizes which helped to make the event so successful.

Congratulations to The Travellers who were the inaugural winners of the tournament and a huge thank you to all the teams that entered.

Debbie DickmanFundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS, said: "I was delighted for the organisers to hear that their event was so successful and that they intend to make it an annual event every August.

"It’s only with the help of the local community that we can continue to provide care and support for local terminally ill patients and their loved ones.  The £872 raised could pay for the cost of one of our specialist nurses for more than a week - your help really does makes all the difference!"
