A huge well done to every single person who completed the Leicester to Skegness bike ride on Saturday and raised money for LOROS - you’re all amazing!
What a fantastic day we had; the sun was shining and with so many people riding in memory of a loved one we couldn’t help but feel emotional.
More than 300 cyclists completed the ride all the way from Leicester City Clock Tower to its counterpart, 86 miles away on the coast of Skegness. So far they have raised an amazing £35k and we are hopeful that the final amount may even exceed £50k. Thank you to everyone who took part, your support really does mean the world to us.
We would also like to record our thanks to the following:
The support people - who kept our cyclists fed, watered and moving
The transport drivers for safely moving bags, bikes and cyclists
The Rapid Relief team for providing all the refreshments and their lunch stop
Wigston 4x4 for their support vehicles, marshalls, breakfast stop and first aid
The finish line volunteers for welcoming the cyclists with medals, water, sweets and a smile
The admin team for keeping us on track
The Geese and Fountain at Croxton Kerrial and Anton's Gowt for the breakfast and lunch stops
Oadby & Wigston Rugby Football Club for the bag drop and bike collection point
If you missed out on the chance to sign up for this event, don’t worry, there are plenty more coming up for you to get involved with.
