George's Golf Day raises more than £1,600 for LOROS

When George Himan and his beautiful puppy Annie, popped into the hospice to chat about his idea for a charity golf day - we were all ears!

The event, held in early July, took place at Glen Gorse Golf Club, providing a beautiful backdrop for players on what turned out to be a gloriously sunny day.

George received an incredible amount of support from his clients at George Himan Massage & Recovery, along with family and friends, resulting in an amazing fundraising total of over £1,600! With the LOROS Lottery team also in attendance, it was terrific to sign up some new players and guarantee future income for our hospice.

Talking to Georgina Sanders, Support Engagement Coordinator, George said: "Supporting LOROS is close to me and my family as they did such an incredible job supporting my Auntie during her final few months with us. I know my mum valued the support that the staff gave her throughout the most difficult time of her life, and that will always be remembered by her and the rest of my family.

"The golf day was incredible; everyone enjoyed themselves and we made a good amount of money to support the charity. So many companies and individuals contributed with prizes for the golf and the raffle, which allowed us to sell a great number of tickets.

"This speaks volumes about the work that LOROS does and I am already looking forward to supporting the charity over the coming years too."

Huge thanks to George for organising a great day of golf and supporting LOROS this way - we really cannot say thank you enough!
