In January we sadly felt the loss of our friend and colleague, Mandy, who died at home with her family at her side. She was fantastically supported by the District Nursing Team in East Central (the Warrens) and Dr Luke Feathers from LOROS.
Mandy worked as a Macmillan Specialist Nurse for many years mainly based in Hinckley where she was well respected and liked by the community nursing teams, GP’s and, of course, patients and carers.
She left that role to head up community and outreach services at LOROS before she retired. Most recently she worked as a CNS in ICSPCT where she predominantly worked within our coordination centre at New Parks. She spoke with patients and carers, daily offering advice and support. She triaged new referrals and used her depth of knowledge to guide other professionals both internally and externally.
She will be missed for her humour, her effortless style but mostly for just being so easy to talk to and always having time for people.
Mandy you will never be forgotten.
