In honour of our new shop on the High Street, this year's theme is 'This + That'. We want the doors to be low-cost so therefore we encourage everyone to re-use, re-purpose and re-cycle! It can be any festive theme you want.
Doors can be decorated anytime from 2nd December and need to be ready for 9th December so there's plenty of time to start thinking about your themes! Voting will open at midday on 9th December.
We want to make sure our colleagues who do not work in the Hospice or the Centre for Excellence can also enter a festive door! If you’re based outside of the Hospice or CfE for example Enterprises, Shops and Cafés, please send a photo of your entry and your team name to Laura Crowson by 8th December to be included on the voting page, where everyone will see your door!
Don’t own a door? See if you can borrow a door from another area of the Hospice.
Laura Crowson will be going round the Hospice and CfE on the morning of the 9th to take pictures of your door and upload them to the voting page.
Have fun everyone and remember, no bribing or sabotage!
This year we wanted to go even bigger so have widened the prize pot that is up for grabs!
The People Award – this is an open vote to all staff and volunteers. Everyone has 1 vote for their favourite door (with just one rule - you can’t vote for your own door!)
The Patient Award – this year we wanted patients who are able, to also be involved - so they’ll be able to vote for their favourite door too! Cecilia in Day Therapy is very kindly creating the trophy for this category, which the winners will proudly home for the year.
The Founder Award – this award will be chosen by the lovely Louise Kiernan who started this festive fun over 2 years ago.
All entries are asked to print the attached sign and pop it near your creation. That way, people know the name of your door/team on the voting form and can scan the QR code to easily access it.
There will also be a link posted on the Hospice Pinboard and an email sent with the link so you can view them all on your computer too.
Voting will close at 5pm on 19th December with winners announced on the 20th.
Last year, the Catering team won our Hospice door competition and the Coalville shop won the best dressed window!
