The Life Project involved teams of pupils from across 11 schools in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, work together to solve some real world challenges, linked to Palliative and End of Life Care in a Dragon’s Den style event,
Spookily, the name of the winning team was The Big Picture (coincidentally the same as our 2023-2028 strategy) and was made up with pupils from Beauchamp City Sixth Form, Oakham School, Harrington School and Uppingham School.
Their idea is being rolled out as a rejuvenated LOROS Youth Ambassador programme, which will hopefully encourage greater opportunities for young people to be involved with LOROS. This will help with fundraising, as well as increasing awareness of the work we do.
The scheme will help the young people develop additional skills that we hope will help them with future employment and education opportunities.
A couple of schools are working with us now to help us refine the idea and we are hoping for more schools to be involved from September 2024 onwards.
