February is LGBTQ+ History Month
This is an opportunity to consider past struggles and achievements of LGBTQ+ people and the history of the gay rights and civil rights movements.
February was chosen in the UK to mark the month in which Section 28, a law that prevented the 'promotion of homosexuality’, was abolished in 2003 and each year there is a theme - for 2025 it is activism and social change. Click the link here for more information.
Leicester is fortunate to have its own LGBTQ+ Centre which covers all of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Their website has a lot of good information.
Ramadan
Ramadan is near and is expected to commence on 28th February this year or very soon after.
We will feature more about Ramadan in next month’s Pinboard, including a vlog with one of our LOROS colleagues.
