Gathering feedback is essential for hospices to enable improvements in service provision. Streamlining the current approach and analysis was seen as an opportunity. We paired with University of Leicester researchers to develop a digital survey tool for patients.
In May we launched phase one of the new University of Leicester digital patient survey feedback which replaced our paper version of 'tell us what you think'. The survey is now being used on the ward, in day therapy and in outpatient services. This involves emailing the survey out, using QR codes and also staff using tablets to help patients and families to fill out the survey whilst at LOROS.
The survey can be accessed by patients and families through:
QR codes which are displayed within clinical areas
QR codes are being incorporated into all patient correspondence letters
Staff are being provided with QR codes for use as appropriate
The website has been updated to include a link to the survey
Digital screens are displaying this information
Volunteers and staff are assisting
We are currently working with the University of Leicester on phase two which will cover our community services.
The number of returns has decreased and we are working with clinical teams to address issues and generate ideas to improve return rate.
Any help to increase returns and embed the survey would be very much appreciated.
