A one-day intermediate communication skills course fully funded for clinical staff across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland including: didactic, group work and small group interactive sessions delivered within a safe environment with the use of ‘Real Talk.’ It provides an opportunity to build on existing communication skills and behaviours relevant to caring for patients and their families with palliative and end of life care needs. This an ideal refresher for participants who have previously attended Advanced communication skills training
‘RealTalk’ is a novel approach to training aimed at enhancing healthcare communication. It is based upon real-life video and audio recordings of UK hospice care and bereavement support groups, and learning points based on communication science research using the Conversation Analysis method.
A study day for Health Care Support Workers to improve knowledge of End of Life Care
Led by Dr Richard Kitchen and considers best practice for advance care planning, decision making about CPR in advance illness.
This study day is a virtual interactive session is fully funded for senior nurses, physician assistants and medical staff in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland who complete the documentation for the ReSPECT Process including discussions about CPR.

We are delighted to be holding a masterclass exploring some of our recent work regarding the barriers and enablers to end of life care planning with a focus on diverse ethnic minority patients and their families.
This will be an interactive session and will be facilitated by Dr Zoebia Islam, Senior Research Fellow at LOROS Hospice.
