LOROS are delighted to announce that Tony Cottee, former England and Leicester City Footballer, will be visiting LOROS on 19th July 2012 at 11am.

Tony is visiting in conjunction with Rudridge who are guests of Brett Landscaping. The aim of the visit is to view the wonderful new LOROS Garden of Light and Reflection, which was installed at LOROS in the spring following it’s showing at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show last year. The garden has been a marvellous addition for LOROS patients and their families.

Tony Cottee has agreed to meet patients and staff during the visit. Tony said “I am thrilled that I have been invited to LOROS to see the magnificent work the Hospice does to help and support 2,500 patients and their families each year. If I can make a difference to help patients and families at such a difficult time then I feel privileged to do so.”

Andrew Gill, Marketing Manager at Brett Landscaping who are based in Barrow upon Soar, said “Brett Landscaping wanted to invite Rudridge, one of our main customers, to view firsthand the magnificent garden that we have donated materials to. I am so pleased that patients, families and staff can enjoy the garden’s therapeutic benefits. When Rudridge said Tony Cottee would also be delighted to see the garden and visit the Hospice we realised how this would enhance the day.”

Tony Cottee was capped seven times by England and played for Leicester City (part of the glory team who won the League Cup in 2000), West Ham and Everton amongst others. He was Player/Manager for Barnet for one season and now works as a television football commentator.

Diane Morris, Fundraising Manager for LOROS said “Everyone at LOROS is very excited that Tony Cottee is visiting. We are always proud to show our excellent facilities and services that we provide to terminally-ill patients who live in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. To have a recognised celebrity visit LOROS will certainly provide a boost to patients, families and staff. We are grateful to Tony, Brett Landscaping and Rudridge for organising such a special event.”
