A memorial tree which stands in the grounds at LOROS has been decorated with colourful ribbons by hundreds of people in memory of their loved ones.
More than 300 people visited the Groby Road Hospice on Saturday for this year’s annual Colour of Ribbons event.
Adults and children alike remembered their loved ones by tying a coloured ribbon to a tree, some of which were decorated with special messages.
Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS, Laura Fitzsawyer who organised the event said: “Colour of Ribbons is always an extremely special event in the LOROS calendar.
“It gave people a chance to celebrate the lives of their loved ones, as well as remembering them in a really lovely way.
“It was nice to see so many people come together and our tree looks absolutely beautiful now after being decorated in coloured ribbons.
“We hope to have made £8,000 from the event, which is brilliant and enough to pay for the care of an inpatient at LOROS for more than two weeks.”
If you didn’t get a chance to attend this year’s Colour of Ribbons, LOROS will once again be hosting their annual Light Up A Life event on Sunday 4th December, giving people the chance to sponsor a light on our Hospice Christmas tree in memory of somebody.
Everybody is welcome to attend the event, even if they do not have an experience of LOROS. To register your interest in this year’s Light Up A Life visit loros.co.uk/lual
