Leicester pub The Blackbird has re-opened with a new look.

The pub in Blackbird Road is now a ‘Sizzling Pub and Grill’ and has a refreshed look, following an extensive two-week refurbishment.

It was officially opened on the 20th July by staff from Leicester Hospice, LOROS.

Janet Manuel, day therapy and occupational manager at LOROS, and Sister Tracey Hind, LOROS ward manager, cut the ribbon at an opening event.

Janet said "The Blackbird has committed to supporting LOROS and their fundraising efforts, with a variety of charitable events planned in the future."

Speaking about the pub’s re-opening, general manager Gavin Ellis said: “We were so proud to have had both Janet and Tracey from LOROS re-open the pub for us.

“They do such incredible work to support those who need it, which is why we’ll be hosting numerous charity events where we can raise funds and do our most to give back.
