Alex was delighted to receive the raffle winner’s call the week before Christmas. We hand delivered Alex cheque and she shared with us her reasons for supporting LOROS.
“I wanted to support the winter raffle this year not only due to the pandemic, but because I know how well LOROS care for people.” said Alex.
“The Hospice supported and cared for my sister in law, Sarah. Sarah was admitted to the inpatient ward at the Hospice 7 years ago now, but I always remember how kind everyone was there. The nurses were great and so supportive to Sarah and also her family, nothing was ever too much trouble.”
“Unfortunately Sarah died in the Hospice back in 2013. She was so well cared for by LOROS and it’s something I know we’ll all never forget and always be thankful for,” said Alex.

It costs us £8.2 million each year to be able to deliver our services. The NHS does give us some money, but we still need to raise at least £6 million each year from our local community.
