A super fan of the comedian and actor Greg Davies is raising thousands for LOROS Hospice despite having no connection to the charity or Leicester.
Vivienne Theobald who set up the Facebook group We Love Greg Davies, was trying to find a way of celebrating the Taskmaster’s birthday.
She said: "We decided on raising money for LOROS as Greg is a patron for the charity, and we wanted to do something which we know he would appreciate.”
The group set up a Just Giving page for LOROS and contributions from all over the world have been flooding in.
Vivienne, who is also a phlebotomist for the NHS, said: “I'm so pleased we have now passed the £3,500 mark... I'm totally blown away. I’m going to make it an annual present to Greg!”
Greg, who Viv has never met, is very pleased by Vivienne’s fundraiser.
He sent a thank you message saying: “I find little to celebrate with every passing birthday, so am delighted it was used as a reason to raise money for LOROS who do such wonderful work. Thank you so much.”
