Simon Wood-Nolan, of Ratby, received a confirmation e-mail that he would be running in the Leicester Marathon just a few weeks after the death of his dad, John.

Throughout August the Leicester branch of Marks and Spencer held various fundraising events in store to raise funds for LOROS. These activities included bag packing and “spinning” on a static exercise bike which was located at the entrance to the store on Humberstone Gate.
PC Neil Whittle, who was named Beat Bobby of the Year, has donated his £250 cheque to LOROS, a charity "very close" to his heart. "Having previous involvement concerning one of my family members last year, I would like to say a big thank-you to LOROS and also to those who took the time to nominate me," he said.
With only two weeks to go, the Fundraising Team at LOROS are becoming concerned that numbers for their annual Walk on the Wildside event in September are low in comparison to previous years.
