Yesterday the Public Accounts Committee published a report into the financial sustainability of hospices in England. LOROS Chief Executive Camilla Barrow responds to the reports findings.
LOROS Hospice has announced that more beds are to reopen on its inpatient ward thanks to additional funding from the NHS, but seven more are required to meet demand.
In late November, four additional beds were opened on LOROS Hospice’s inpatient ward thanks to short-term winter pressures funding. Due to end in March, this funding has already enabled 17 patients to receive the specialist palliative care they urgently needed.
