Staff at LOROS Hospice – including nurses on the inpatient ward – swapped their uniforms for pyjamas yesterday, as part of a fundraiser celebrating the launch of a new charity sleepwear range.
40 giant elephants from LOROS Hospice’s Stomp Round Leicester art trail were auctioned off last night, raising a mammoth £286,800 for the charity.

Ryan is 45 and lives in Blaby. He is both a patient at LOROS and a huge fundraiser for the charity.
This September marks LOROS’ 40th birthday since it first opened its doors in 1985.
In a few days’ time on 2nd September, it will be 40 years since LOROS first opened its doors to the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
They say elephants never forget. Now LOROS is keeping that promise with its Remember Me elephant. The mammoth elephant is the work of local artist Anna Shutt, who was inspired by looking through photograph albums of relatives.
LOROS Hospice is pleased to confirm it will receive a share of the Government’s recently announced £75 million capital fund for hospices in England.
