Representative from local Leicestershire Hospice, LOROS, popped into Manheim Auctions at Bruntingthorpe during a Mazda auction to thank them for raising over £5,000 for their charity.

They raised the money by holding an action packed variety evening which was extremely well supported by Manheim members of staff and their friends and families and also by the many generous contributions from buyers. Entertainment included lots of up and coming comedians, a local band, a charity auction and much more; the organisers were overwhelmed by the evening’s success.

LOROS does great work for local families and raising this amount of money for them is something we are very proud of.

“We were lucky enough to have the support of many local companies who kindly donated some fantastic prices for both an auction and a raffle. We are hoping to have created awareness, as well as raising a significant amount of money, which will then be put back into the community.”

LOROS really enjoyed the visit and the chance to see how the auction process worked. Alex Gamble, Partnership Development Executive at LOROS, said: “It was brilliant to see a live auction in action and the big operation that Manheim runs. It’s great that all the staff can take time out of their busy working day and focus their mind on helping us raise the £4.5million needed annually to look after our 2,500 patients and their families in Leicestershire and Rutland.

"We are so grateful because this money they raised is equivalent to the cost of a LOROS nurse providing specialist care to our patients for more than seven weeks.”
