An Aladdin’s Cave was how Melton Mayor Marilyn Gordon described the town’s new LOROS charity shop when she officially opened it on Tuesday.
The launch party officially kicked the LOROS fundraising campaign off and will see 30 teams compete in order to try and win awards for “Most Money Raised” and “Most Innovative Idea”.
More than 100 dogs took part in a third annual charity walk.
The Leicester Marathon is this year aiming to build on the £70,000 of charity money it raised for worthy causes last year. A total of 2,500 runners took part in the 2013 event and half-marathon, many collecting for charities including LOROS.
Mr Patel visited LOROS earlier today to present us with a donation of £308.
The date for 2014’s Leicester Marathon has been officially confirmed this week by the organising team.
